He was predeceased by: his parent Roberto Mendez. He is survived by: his parent Francisca Machuca; his daughter Maritza Mendez (John Hocevar) of Glendale; his grandchildren, Nicolas Mancinelli, Leena La Russa, Skip La Russa and Robert Swanson, Jr.; his great grandchild Isabella Williams; his significant other Patricia Araya; his siblings, Gladys Viera (Santos), Victor Mendez (Eneida), Gabriel Soto, Jr., Elba Castro (Neil Martin), Edwin Soto and Wilfredo Soto (Barbie); his former wife Carmen Mendez; and his sister-in-law Nora Robles. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jorgie's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
