It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard F. Whitney of Newburgh, New York, who passed away on December 8, 2022, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clarence Whitney and Aslaug Whitney; his son-in-law Mark Scott; his sister Eleanor Doyle; his sons, Richard and Edward; his wife Ethel Long; his children, Wayne Whitney (Kathy), Lynda Scott, Donna Whitney Lambert (Bartley) and Glenn Whitney (Andrea); his grandchildren, Ryan Scott (Annie), Brandon Scott (Danielle), Mark Scott Jr., Brian Whitney (Samantha), Kyle Whitney, Jared Lambert (Jacquline), Michael Lambert (Morgan), Abigail and Sarah Bowen; his great grandchildren, Aiden, Bryson, Emmi and Russell; his brother-in-law Tom Cerulli (Alice Cerulli); his children, Tom Jr., Diane and Charles; and also Tim Leydon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Richard's name to St. Margaret's Episcopal Church in Staatsburg, New York, and Hudson Valley Hospice.
