He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Monroe and Delia Monroe (Kemp); his spouse Shirley Squire; and his son Darryl Sr. The. He is survived by: his sister Ber; his children, Stacey, Theresa (Thereso) and Sidney Jr.; his grandchildren, Darryl Jr. (Kamilah), Brittany (Brent Brent), Ariana and Samirah (Ma-Ma); his great grandchildren, Najier, Sariya, Alaya, Imani, Darryl III, Zhameije, Maliki and Mytayviona; his great great grandchildren, Aiden and Jayceon; his siblings, Berlene Monroe, George Monroe, Henry Monroe (Dora), Cleveland Monroe (Yonkers) and Janie Pittman (Roseboro); and his close friend Karen Tucker. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
