She was predeceased by : her mother Florence M. Wilson; her husband Fred French, Sr.; her former life partner Charles Barris; her children, LeeAnne, Betsy, Carl, Danny and Joy; and her stepdaughter Sally.

She is survived by : her daughter June; her brother John; her grandchildren, Julie (Tyreese) and Gerry; her great grandchildren, Mercedes (Andrew), Kurtis, Keisha, Gerry Jr., Jasmyne, Dikembe, Jordan and Anthony; her great great grandchildren, Kamara, Quinten and Zayden; and her great grandchildren, Fred, Jan, Paul, Liz, Curtis, Arlene and Beth. She is also survived by birds.
