He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Daisy Mae Jackson (Williams) and Robert Gilmer; his wife Marsha; his daughter Sonya Gilmer; his stepsons, Albert, Darnell, Michael (Deborah), Matthew and Merton Kreps (Estelle); his grandson Donnel Gilmer; and his siblings, Ted Gilmer, Fred Gilmer, Isabella Moye, Diane Gilmer and Patricia Gilmer. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
