He was predeceased by : his parents, Rudolph Adolph Otto and Sarah Hannah Elvera Vierath (Joseph); and his wife Carol Spuck Vierath. He is survived by : his children, Kathryn Mazzeo (Mario), Marc Micare, Jason Micare and Deana Corrigan (Tom); his grandchildren, Matthew, Kyle, Nicholas, Anthony, Miranda, Mariah and Marius; and his siblings, Philip Arthur Vierath, Geraldine Ferguson (late John Ferguson) and Lois Ann Christman (Delmer).

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Doug's memory may be made to the Cancer Research Institute, 29 Broadway, Floor 4, New York, NY 10006-3111 or cancerresearch.org.
