He was predeceased by : his parents, George Gates and Dorothea Gates (Brenz); his wife Judith O'Connor (Judy); and his sister Dorothy Swim. He is survived by : his sons, Thomas Gates (Janice) of Clifton Park, Michael Gates (Khristina) of Fairport, Paul Gates (Lisa) of Loudonville and Daniel Gates (Barbara) of Latham; and his grandchildren, Shannon, Shawn, Marissa, Emily, Tyler (Emily) and Dylan. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
