We are sad to announce that on January 7, 2022, at the age of 94, Helen L. Gaffney of Norwood, New York, born in Rossie, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John "Jack" Gaffney; her siblings, James O'Hara (Jessie), Phillip O'Hara, Alice Flaherty (Robert), Edna Felt (Raymond), Lucy Dwyer (Donald) and Margaret Lavarnway (Roy "Junior"); her great grandchild Ashley Patterson; and her parents, Charles O'Hara and Lillian O'Hara (Whalen).
She is survived by: her daughters, Kathleen Spies of Potsdam, Colleen Chapin of Norwood and Maureen Gaffney of Norwood; her grandchildren, Jeffrey Spies of Pennsylvania, Gretchen Frey of Orlando, Ingrid Spies of Pennsylvania, Bridget Patterson (Christopher) of Auburn, Christine Sweet (Eric) of Norfolk and Erin Chapin of Norwood; her great grandchildren, Derek, Ryan, Jacob, Zachery Spies, Cora, Colin Frey, Patrick, Owen Spies, Jack, Benjamin, Nathaniel Patterson and Alexis Sweet; and her son-in-law Harold Chapin. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
