He was predeceased by : his parents, George Swan and Rose Blanchard Swan; his former life partner Mertie Ashford; and his wife Harriett Lamb. He is survived by : his children, Jacqueline (Thomas), Georgia, Anona (Eric), William Swan (Lynn) of Chase Mills, Susan Pollock (Peter Reynolds), Norwood, James Swan (Amalia) and John Swan; and his siblings, Etta, Elaine, Michael and Janice. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
