She was predeceased by: her son Michael; and her sister Teresa Shamp. She is survived by: her husband Leon; her children, Dawn Birk-Instrella (Renjan Instrella), Jaime (John Pickett) and Samantha (Jerry Yang); her grandchildren, Rayden Birk-Instrella, Riella Birk-Instrella, John Michael Pickett and Baby J. Dear; and her siblings, Sharon Dellasso (late Richard), Raymond Ferraro (Marty) and Linda Ferraro. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Food donations can be sent in Cathy's honor to the incredible team in the E1 Southside Critical Care Unit and nurses and healthcare workers all over Mount Sinai South Nassau who cared so well for Cathy.
