He was predeceased by : his parents, Oscar J. Carlson and Pauline E. Bradford Carlson; his children, Penny L. Marra and Scott E. Carlson; and his grandchildren, Jason E. Marra and Katie A. Carlson.
He is survived by : his children, Mark T. Carlson of Norfolk, VA and Martha C. Hoge (David) of West Minister; and his grandchildren, James B. Carlson (Ashley), Kelly Barr (Jeremy), Jessica Granados (Gus), Anthony "Trey" Marra (Heather), Kimberly Bartholomew (Joe), Karrie Neely (Ryan), Tristan Wilson (Jeff), Spenser Hoge (Rochelle), Brooke Hoge and Kelsie Hoge (Ignasi Aliguer). He is also survived by 17 great grandchildren.
