He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Carman and Frances Carman (Sturiale); and his son Jonathan Carman. He is survived by: his daughter Valerie Scanlan (Brett) of Charlotte, NC; his daughter-in-law Tricia Carman of Binghamton; and his grandchildren, Emerson, Bryce, Alaina and Liana.
