He is survived by: his wife Donna Hotaling Otello; his sister Linda Oliver (John); his son Peter (Lisa); his grandchildren, Alaina and Brooke; his son Joseph (JJ); and his granddaughters, Viola and Lily.

Instead of flowers, the family requests that donations be made, in Joe's name, to the Franklin Emergency Squad, P.O. Box 8, Franklin, NY 13775.
