He was predeceased by: his parents, William J. Dobler and Eileen T. Dobler (McCabe); and his sister Cecilia. He is survived by: his former wife Teresa DeSilva; his wife Teresa Dobler; his children, Katherine Dobler and James Dobler; his siblings, William E. Dobler, Timothy Dobler, Kim Loftus, Mary and Frank Flatley; and his nephews, Joseph Flatley of Andrew Flatley, Zachary Dobler and Michael Flatley.
