He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Tiel and Margaret Rockafellow Tiel; his sister Elizabeth Tiel Reardon (Kathryn Ruff); and his stepson Michael Purcell (Olivia Gibbins). He is survived by: his daughters, Lynn Tiel Cave Stone and Mary Anne Tiel Thuma; his stepchildren, Marianne Lee and Timothy Purcell; his grandchildren, Sarah Cave, William and Kelly Cave; his great grandchildren, Collin, Madelyn and Gavin; his sister-in-law Elizabeth Stagg; his pet Gotcha; and his friend Charles Thuma. He is also survived by several nieces and a nephew.
