He was predeceased by: his wife Maria Montavlo Garcia; his parents, Julio Garcia and Laura Garcia; his brother Julio A. Garcia, Jr.; his son Robert Salmon; and his nephews, Robert and Julio A. Garcia III.

He is survived by: his children, Patricia (Bob Zipkin), Cynthia Garcia and Dennis Salmon; his grandchildren, Cassady, Keila Zipkin, Lindsay, Valerie Salmon and Benjamin Ettlinger; his daughter-in-law Jennifer Allen Salmon; his sister-in-law Margaret Garcia; and his nieces, Laura Garcia Ruffalo and Carole Garcia Chifalo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to Uniceff Fund.
