He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Mears and Johanna Mears (Piotraschke). He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth King; his friend Harry T. King Wholesale; his children, Joanne Hilton (Thomas) of Palermo, Ernest Mears (Patricia) of Oswego, Paul Mears (Catherine) of Oswego and Martha La May (Mark) of Watertown; and his grandchildren, Douglas Hilton (Angela), Michael Hilton (Courtney), Andrew Hilton (Meredith), Ashley Ocean (Benjamin), Morgan Mears, Jonathan Mears, Ellen Rowberry (Ian), Emily Poulton (Richard), Megan La May and Katie La May. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
