He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Sr. Dunn and Hannah Dunn (Gremelsbacker); his wife Lillian Dunn (Hollman); his sons, John Dunn III and Michael Dunn; and his brothers, Robert and Eugene Dunn.
He is survived by: his daughter Cynthia Proietti (David) of Oswego; and his grandchildren, Jocelyn Horne (Jeff) of Richmond Virginia, Michelle Proietti of Montreal and John Proietti of Detroit Michigan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was a volunteer for the Glen Cove Fire Department, a member of the Cape Dory Board, a supporter of the Oswego Maritime Foundation, and worked on the OMF Ontario Schooner.
