He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Benedict and Marjorie Benedict (Sallsbury); his wife Barbara J. Benedict; and his brother Richard Benedict. He is survived by: his children, Martin A. Benedict Jr. of Oswego and Deborah Tesoriero of Oswego; his grandchildren, Dana Murray of Oswego and Morgan Murray of Oswego; and his sisters, Dorothy Hill of Bridgeport and Martha Balla (Jim) of Central Square.

Donations may be made in Martin Benedict's name to the Upstate Golisano Children Hospital, 750 E. Adams St. Syracuse NY 13210.
