He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Wilbur Barney and Lea Barney (Simpson); his wife Martha Barney (Wiltsie); his children, Michelle Silva (Jesse) of Rhode Island and William R. Barney of Syracuse; and his siblings, Robert Barney (Lorraine) of Florida, Neil Barney (Norma) of Oswego, Gloria Scaccia of Oswego, William Richards and Norma Rhines. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
