She is survived by: her parent Lena Gittens Backus; her husband Charles Barnes of Clifton Springs; her children, Mary VanDuser (Orville) of Phelps, Frances Deppen of Newark, Allen Pollot (Marie) of Pittsford and Jean Empson (Peter) of Phelps; her grandchildren, Daniel, Joan, Allison, Beth, Kasey, Cory and Erin; her brothers, Carl Backus (Angela) of Fairville and Roy Backus (Neva) of Phelps; and her brother-in-law Stephen Csete of Clifton Springs. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
