Joan M. Bassett Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joan M. Bassett in Port Washington, New York, born in Brooklyn, New York, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 26, 2025 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Molanphy and Margaret Molanphy; and her husband Edwin P. Bassett. She is survived by: her sibling Thomas Molanphy; her children, Edwin F. (Karen), Margaret Tiarks (Thomas), Thomas, Virginia Vola (Lou) and Daniel (AnnMarie); and her grandchildren, Tom Tiarks (Alli), Lauren Tiarks, Katie Tiarks, Quinn Bassett, Chris Vola and Jessica Bassett. She is also survived by her many "cousin" nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, October 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Fairchild and Sons Funeral Chapel (1570 Northern Blvd, Manhasset, NY 11030). A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the St Peter of Alcantara Church (1327 Port Washington Blvd, Port Washington, NY 11050). A burial was held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Nassau Knolls Cemetery (500 Port Washington Blvd, Port Washington, NY 11050).
