It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Curene Clark Ervin of Queens, New York, who passed away on October 20, 2021, at the age of 75, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Ida McCalla Thomas and Joseph Matthews; her son Anthony Clark of South Carolina; her grandchildren, Anthony, Treyvon, Tyler, Skylar and Jaylen; her husband Frank Ervin; her son Samuel Clark of North Carolina; her siblings, Alton Matthews (Angie) of New York, Claudette Branch of New York, Sandry (James Gaillard) of North Carolina, Anthony, Jeanie, Milton, Wilmot, Nelton, Melton, Jennifer and Shearer; and her close friend Dorett "Dee" Aldrick.
Curene was the Governor of the Library's Foundation since 2005.
