As Michael departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Michael may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Michael leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his sister MaryAnn Bristol. He is survived by: his wife Lois; his children, Lori Matis (Kurt) and Lynn Heald (Dan) of North Dakota; his grandchildren, Karissa, Jenessa Matis, Cassandra and Danny Heald; and his sister Catherine Merchant. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 21st 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Immanuel Church (274 Columbia Turnpike, Rensselaer, NY 12144). A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 22nd 2025 at 1:30 PM at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery (200 Duell Rd, Schuylerville, NY 12871).
