With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Carolyn Brown (Rochester, New York), whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Carolyn left this world on August 6, 2025 at the age of 90, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her former husband Lane Brown; her parents, Raymond D Church and Lena B. Church; her siblings, Elaine B. Bowers and Thomas Raymond Church; her stepson Larry West; her pet Goldie; and her close friend Goldie.
She is survived by: her son Reverend Doctor Joseph D. Askins Jr. (Vonnie); her daughter-in-law Rev. Avonne Joy Askins of Webster; her daughter Debra Lynn Carden; her son-in-law Colonel Dana Carden (Ret) of El Paso, TX; her son Michael Raymond Askins; her daughter-in-law Martha Elena Rodriguez of San Antonio; and her stepsons, Wayne West of Mesa, AZ and Steve West of Fredericksburg, Texas.. She is also survived by 11 Grandchildren 8 Great Grandchildren and many nephews, nieces.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 18th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the New Comer Cremations & Funerals (6 Empire Blvd, Rochester, NY 14609). A memorial service was held on Monday, August 18th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location.
