He was predeceased by : his former life partner Jeanne Schwartz (Wallach); his son William Schwartz; his parents, Max Schwartz and Celia Schwartz; and his siblings, Rose, Moe and Hyman.

He is survived by : his wife Irene Schwartz (Pheterson); his children, Ellen Smith (David), Dr. Ronald Schwartz (Deborah) and Martin Schwartz; his daughter-in-law Sandra Schwartz; his grandchildren, Lindsey Genut (Jordan), Diana Danoff, Stephanie, Michael, Jonathan, Brigitte Schwartz, Lauren Grondin (Josh) and Lisa Weber (Alex); and his great grandchildren, Leeya, Gabriella, Eli Genut, Catherine Grondin, William and Weston Weber. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews & dear friends.
