John Shafer Obituary
We are sad to announce that on August 9, 2025, John Shafer (Rochester, New York) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Elizabeth Shafer (Betty McColley) and Harold Herman Shafer (Pep). He is survived by: his wife Patricia Jeanette Shafer (Turney); his children, Anne Bundschuh (Brian), Pam Frieling (Keith), Sue Wojtas (Ron) and Scott Shafer (Cheri); his grandchildren, Rachel Goehring (Jon), Aaron Bundschuh, Jacob Bundschuh (Krista), Rebekah Bundschuh, Daniel Frieling (Olivia), Timothy Frieling, Alyssa Frieling (Matt Kelly), Sarah, Anna Wojtas, Caleb Shafer (Alexis Frantz) and Olivia Shafer; and his great grandchild Baby Boy Shafer. He is also survived by many other extended family members and dear friends.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, August 16th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Hope Lutheran Church (1301 Vintage Ln, Rochester, NY 14626).
