He was predeceased by: his parents, James F. Carrigan and Frances M. O'Sheasy; and his wife Sue Carrigan. He is survived by: his children, James (Julie Carrigan), Peter (Jennifer Carrigan), Melissa (Lee Blum) and Denise (Jim Nelligan); his grandchildren, Daniel, Liza Carrigan, Jillian, Nelson Sanchez, Elizabeth, Alysa Carrigan, Emily, Jonathan, Patrick Blum, Allison, Megan and Michael May; and his brothers, Robert, William and Tom Carrigan.
