She was predeceased by: her grandmother Mona; and her close friends, Laura and Liz Sandford. She is survived by: her parents, Gregg Nelson and Angela Carapelo Nelson; her husband Iskander "Alex" Baaklini; her children, Iskander Baaklini and Giavanna Baaklini; her brother Gregg Nelson Jr.; her brother-in-law Farid Baaklini (Claudia); her sister Amanda Nelson Carnes; and her niece Olivia Breault.
