Richard Rider Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Richard Rider of Saugerties, New York, who passed away on August 28, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Kenneth J. Rider and Thelma Rider (Depuy) of Accord; his significant other Dr. Kevin Smith of Saugerties; his brothers, Donald (Carolyn) and Leonard of Accord; and his siblings' children, Stephen, Jeffrey (Melissa), Andrew (Christina) and Sherry Cannizzaro. He was also cherished by three great nieces, three great nephews and one great, great nephew.

Here, he held weekly office hours for local families and members of the public to come in and meet with him to discuss their own family history and genealogy, which he continued until the current COVID pandemic caused him to shut down due to health concerns.
