He was predeceased by: his parents, Alice Frances Kelly (Tolleson) of Chattanooga, TN and Samuel C. Kelly Jr. of Hawkinsville, GA.; his siblings, Pamela and William (Mac); and his nephew William (Billy).
He is survived by: his former wife Lynne Freihofer Collins; his children, Jennifer L. Anderson, Wendy P. Kelly (Fred) and Sam C. Kelly IV; his niece Kimberly Kelly; and his grandchildren, Tom, Jack, McKenzie Ryan, David Blankenship, Tilsley and Jeanette Kelly.
