He was predeceased by : his son Todd Briggs; his siblings, Buddy, Paul Briggs, Lois Ricker and Jean Vinosh; and also Patricia Johnson-Briggs.

He is survived by : his wife Helen; his daughters, Heather McMullen (Kevin) and Karee Briggs; his daughter-in-law Margaret Briggs; his grandchildren, Garrett, Patrick, Rian McMullen, Keirstin, Kaelynn, Tyler (Brooke), Kelsi and Karlee Briggs; his great grandchildren, Marion, Marius and Gabriel; and his sisters-in-law, Gloria Briggs, Patricia Fennessey, Kathy Caverly (Jim), Peggy Converse, Libby Spence, Millie Gotwals (Bill) and Mary Klein (Bob).

A celebration of life was held on Friday, May 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Chili American Legion Post 1830 (450 Scottsville-Chili Rd, Scottsville, NY 14546).
