With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Robert Gordon Kennelley of Chautauqua, New York, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Robert left this world on May 13, 2026 at the age of 100, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Schlining-Kennelley and Emma Schlining-Kennelley; his former wife Shirley McGonegal; and his siblings, James, Dorothy Burgess, Emily Saddler (Roland Saddler), Mary Callahan, Charles (Chuck), William (Bill) and Roland (Rollie).
He is survived by: his wife Grace; his children, Robert (Julie Pierce), Gail Hornsby (Ed), Rae Ann Crandall, Rita Pendland and Susan Kennelley; and his stepson Rudy Abersold. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 22nd 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Christ Chapel. The inurnment will be held on Sunday, May 24th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the Cassadaga Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cassadaga American Legion.
