He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustav and Erna Freitag (Posenauer); his wife Beverly; his son William; and his brother Harry Freitag.
He is survived by: his girlfriend Veronica 'Roni Benson of Skaneateles; his children, Caroll Maholick (Michael), Allen Freitag of Skaneateles, Carrie Freitag (Margaret Kerouac) and Karen Davis; his grandchildren, Andrew, Michael Yi, Zachary 'Erik Maholick, Karley and Ava Davis; and his brother Heinz 'Hank' Freitag (Ronna). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Mottville Volunteer Fire Department or the National Organization of Parents of Murdered Children (pomc.org).
