Though Alonso Arroyo may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Alonso Arroyo touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Rosalie Benitez-Alunan; his children, Maria Sherzad (Mangal), Alvin Alunan (Michael Signoriello), Carlo Alunan (Julia) and Carla Federovich (Mark); his grandchildren, Zadron Sherzad, Robert, Kate Federovich and Sebastian Alunan; and his sister Gloria DeCastro.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc. (28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10312). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 at 9:30 AM at the St. Thomas the Apostle Church (50 Maguire Ave, Staten Island, NY 10309).
