He was predeceased by : his parents, Salvatore Candela and Maria Candela (DiMaggio); and his wife Francesca Gambino. He is survived by : his children, Salvatore Candela (Giuseppa), Maria Gaudesi (Gioacchino) and Anna Lourentzatos (Athanasios); his grandchildren, Giuseppe Gaudesi (Susan), Francesca Candela, Calogero Candela (Jessica), Calogero Gaudesi, Enza Lopez (Adam), Alessandro Gaudesi (Danielle), Baldo Candela, George Lourentzatos, Gerry Lourentzatos and Gianni Lourentzatos; and his brothers, Giuseppe and Giovanni. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
