He was predeceased by: his parents, Viola Schmitt (Biggs) and Charles Joseph Schmitt; his wife Frances Schmitt (Ryan); his daughter Carol Cutler (Schmitt); his grandson Charles Joseph Schmitt, III; and his sisters, Viola Dohlmar (Schmitt) and Linda Schiavone (Moselek).
He is survived by: his son Charles Joseph Schmitt, Jr.; and his granddaughters, Michelle Schmitt-DeBonis and Amanda Hoyman (Schmitt).
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc. (28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10312). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 4th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
