The memory of Sewell M. Balch Jr. of Syracuse, New York, born in Cohoes, New York, who passed away on June 8, 2025 at the age of 90, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. He was predeceased by: his wife Eleanor R. Balch (Miceli); his daughters, Patricia Liepke (Balch) and Kathleen Halko (Balch); his son-in-law John Halko; his parents, Sewell Balch and MaryAnn Balch; his siblings, Judy Hatch (Balch) and Robert Balch; and his granddaughter Kristen Napiorkowski.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael Balch (Marilou), Thomas Balch (Laurie) and Andrew Balch (Dan Woytowicz); his siblings, Barbara Quirk (Balch), Karen Balch and Lewis Balch; and his grandchildren, Matthew Balch (Sarah Mahaney), Ann Marie Staie (Balch), Kara Salce (Dana), Joshua Liepke (Katie), Nanette Waialae (John), Nathan Gaspar (Phoebe) and Joshua Halko. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Tindall Funeral Home Inc. (1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY 13204). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, June 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Church of the Most Holy Rosary (111 Roberts Ave, Syracuse, NY 13207).
