He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Buncy and Eva Buncy. He is survived by: his wife Thelma Buncy (Pierce); his children, Carolyn Evans and John Ammerman (Kellie Meisner); and his grandchildren, Allen Gore, Nyssa Gore and Joshua Ammerman. He is also survived by four cousins.
