He is survived by: his wife Carol Cherkauer (Palmer); his children, Richard Cherkauer (Brandi), Robert R. Cherkauer and Amanda Reding (Scott); his grandsons, John Peyton and Bobby Charlotte; and his sisters-in-law, Anne Mastin (late Ed) and Lilly Anita Palmer (late Thomas). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
