He was predeceased by: his daughter Rita Dotzey; and his siblings, Shirley Gyalog (late John) and Donald Dotzey. He is survived by: his wife Anne M. Dotzey; his daughters, Joan Brant (Jerry) and Margaret Dotzey; his grandchildren, Jonathon and Elizabeth; and his sister Dina Digiuseppe. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Vincent de Paul in John's memory.
