He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Joan; his children, Jeffrey, Lanilee Korczynski (Mark) and Marrianne Jerla (Charles Prell); his grandchildren, Jakob, Kaylalynne, Michaela, Jason, Amanda, Nicholas and Brianna; his parents, Polish Immigrants and Ida Jerla; and his brother Henry Jerla. He was also cherished by three brothers and four sisters and survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Wendelville Fire Co of Pendleton.
