He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Slater and Etta Slater; and his sister Vicki Perkins. He is survived by: his children, Laura Rush (Thomas) and Matthew Slater (Jill); his grandchildren, Erin Rush (Ian Kibler), Thomas Rush (Tara McHugh) and Robin Rush; and his siblings, Roger Slater, Douglas Slater (Beth) and Joan Slater. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
