He was predeceased by: his parent George J. Slyer Sr.; his spouse Florentine O'Connor Slyer; and his sibling Pamela Slyer O'Bryan (late James). He is survived by: his parent Florence D. Milburn; and his siblings, Timothy Slyer (Ellen), William Slyer (Nancy) and Janice Videtto (Tony). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
