He was predeceased by : his parents, John W. Kennedy and Louise Kennedy (Holmes). He is survived by : his wife Esther; his son James J. Kennedy of Muncie, Indiana; and his brothers, John Kennedy, Jr. of Fishkill and Michael Kennedy of Highland Falls. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
