She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Joseph William Jefferson and Melissa Henderson Jefferson; her children, Melvin Ross Marshall Jr. (Kim), Michael of Westfield and Shelley Marshall of Wappingers Falls; her sister Cynthia Redmond of Hamden, Connecticut.; her husband Melvin R. Marshall Sr.; and her brother Joseph W. Jefferson. She was also cherished by nephews, nieces, grand- and great-grandnephews.
