Rita L. Caprino Obituary
Rita's life was defined by her passion for learning, her dedication to others, and her boundless compassion for friends and family.
Professionally, for more than a decade, Rita has served as a Regional Training Manager for Dollar Tree, inspiring countless colleagues with her dedication to seeing each person achieve their ambitions.
In August 2025, she proudly earned her Doctorate in Education, a milestone that reflected her lifelong quest for knowledge and her dedication to always be open to improvement. She always achieved her goals, always in the face of strong headwinds. She met issues head on and would not be stopped.
Her love of family and friends was seen in her actions. Her home was the location for weekly family dinners and holiday gatherings. She hosted reunions of lifelong friends whenever the opportunity arose. She also shared her home with a lifetime of beloved cats over the decades, all of whom were rescues.
Rita is survived by her father Frank Caprino, her sister Catherine Caprino, and her brother Frank Caprino Jr., and her significant other of over 30 years, Russ Gifford. She also leaves behind her much loved cats Alice, Izzy, Wally, and Queenie. She was preceded in death by her mother, Charlotte Caprino.
Rita's legacy lives on in the lives she inspired, the lessons she taught, and the love she shared. She will be remembered for her kindness, humor, and steadfast spirit — qualities that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Rita strived to make a difference, and she did. She will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Rita's memory to the American Cancer Society or the World Wildlife Fund, causes close to her heart.
