She was predeceased by : her parents, John McGovern and Mary McGovern; and her husband Michael Hughes. She is survived by : her children, Maura of South Carolina, Michael of Florida and Deirdre Cassidy (Michael) of West Sayville; her grandchildren, John, Kelly, Alison, Michael and Kate; and her great grandchildren, Harlow, Hayden and John McGovern.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Raynor & D'Andrea Funeral Homes (245 Main St, West Sayville, NY 11796). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, April 19th 2024 at 11:30 AM at the St. Lawrence RC Church (240 W Main St, Sayville, NY 11782). A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery (10 W Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY 10532).
