He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Ickes and Wilma Ickes. He is survived by: his daughter Kim Fahrion; and his siblings, Delbert Ickes (Joy), Ron Ickes (Lucinda), Twila Grenig (Kurt), Harold II Ickes (Liz Fierman) and Aaron "Joseph" Chavis. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Apostolic Church of Akron Food Pantry. (Adams Mason Funeral Home, 330-535-9186).
