He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Sr. and Catherine Smoot Sr.; and his grandmother Lulu Henderson. He is survived by: his siblings, Gloria Dozier, Kathy Richardson (Charles), Larry Smoot (Daneen), Charles Smoot (Renetta Otis) and David Smoot; and his uncle Jacob Henderson (Teddy).
